Program Overview - Track Descriptions

Advocacy and Regulatory Track

Federal, state, and local government regulations change rapidly and impact your ability to deploy wireless infrastructure--both positively and negatively. PCIA is the industry advocate throughout all levels of government and maintains a broad view of how different regulatory systems interrelate. Federal action, such as court decisions and the FCC’s Shot Clock and National Broadband Plan release, are intertwining with increasingly active and involved state and local governments to create a mounting and changing regulatory environment for wireless infrastructure deployment. Understanding these issues and how they impact your business is instrumental to your success. The Advocacy and Regulatory Track will feature a wide array of industry experts who will help you understand the most effective approaches to site deployment regulations.

Business and Finance Track

Valuation of wireless sites, access to capital, financial assumptions and expectations, and opportunities for operating efficiencies are some of the big ticket topics addressed in these sessions. Listen to bankers, brokers, developers, and others discuss their experience and successful approaches to the money side of the industry. Whatever your role in the industry, you will benefit from an up to the moment understanding of its financial underpinnings and operating principles. These sessions will provide you with the solutions and tools to take on these challenges successfully.

Technology and Operations Track

It’s a time of rapid technological implementation and change in the industry. Sessions in the Technology and Operations track will update you on the newest technology deployments; the successes, the issues, and the lessons learned. Operators, engineers, manufacturers and other experts will present invaluable information on how to enhance existing operations and plan effectively for the future, all in the context of real operations and practical business requirements. The Technology and Operations Track will provide you with a unique perspective on maintaining optimal structure operation, and the technology to help you succeed.

DAS Track

Increasingly, wireless carriers are leveraging the coverage and capacity capabilities of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for indoor and outdoor applications. DAS helps solve wireless coverage issues at the street level in dense urban areas, along key routes in residential areas, inside large buildings and throughout sensitive environments. In this track, you will hear from the experts on the advantages of these systems and learn of the barriers to DAS from economic, technological, and cultural standpoints.
